Lovely email and update from Charlene and Tony who have Cobber from our Ditto - Mickey litter born July 2020:
"Hi Rosemary, Just touching base to let you know how much we are enjoying Cobber and how he is loving life at Scotts Head...bush walks, beach and river time, time with my children and their dogs , and time spent learning manners!
He is warm and affectionate, no aggression even when getting put in his place by dogs with inferiority complexes! He loves tug o war, it is hilarious watching him nudge his kelpie mates with a rope in his mouth, wait for them to latch on, and then proceed to drag them around for hours.
His excitement and rough play are settling around other dogs. He seemed to flick a switch and get the message that containing himself a little meant more freedom and inclusion. We are still amazed that the puppy stage didn't include digging or chewing shoes, and he was was toilet trained from day 1 (we won't mention the two outdoor lounges that got devoured, they were old anyway!)
Becoming RR owners again was a great decision, he is truely loved, gets a lot of time and attention, and I think he is pretty happy being a part of our family. We get lot of positive comments and compliments about his temperment and how good looking he is.
Proud parents! Thank you! Charlene and Tony"

Lovely email from Margie who bought Sasha from our Tuku - Nikki litter born 10 July. Sasha is Margie's first RR puppy although her husband trains working dogs on their property in the Scenic Rim area. "Hi Rosemary - Thank you for the information regarding next vaccination. Just want to again say how thrilled we are to have Sasha, she is just perfect. Sure hope all the others are as happy with their puppies as we are. Regards Margie"

July
On 10 July our beautiful girl Tuku (Aust Ch Chilolo HH Paint The Line Gold) presented us with 13 puppies, all with ridges, all fat and healthy, 8 females and 5 males. Four days later, Tuku's grandmother Bling (Aust Ch Chilolo EBN Gold Class Ticket) also presented us with 13 puppies, all with ridges and all healthy, 8 males and 5 females!!
Unfortunately Bling had so much milk that she started to develop mastitis which is very painful and she inadvertently lay on one of the smallest boys and we lost him. Tuku, however, has been the best mum for her first litter and never missed a beat with all 13 of her babies.

On April 12th Joey had the frame removed from his leg and replaced with a full bandage. That had to stay on for 2 weeks and it was finally removed yesterday. His leg is now open to the air and the wounds will hopefully heal quickly. He is using it well but he still have to remain on strictly controlled exercise and he has to be crated at all times. He is coping much better since the frame was removed and it is much easier for him to walk. He has to return to the specialist in 2 weeks for another check.

Congratulations to Jana in South Australia and Marusia (Almazart Eastern Promises) for gaining her championship title last weekend in Adelaide. Marusia is a lovely girl and is a daughter of our gorgeous boy Nikki (BIS Sup Ch Jelany Red Nikaya For Chilolo Imp Russia).
In New Zealand, Yvette and her sister bred Marly (Jahari She's Da Bomb) who was awarded 3 consecutive Challenge Certificates and Puppy In Show at the Hound Show in North Island last weekend. Marly is also sired by Nikki. We are thrilled to see Nikki's progeny doing so well in the show rings.
Meanwhile back at the Gold Coast, Mpanda (Samara and Chukkie) is relaxing in bed waiting for her registration certificate to come through so she can go to shows with Brendan!! Glad our puppies are not spoiled!!!!
And in USA, our gorgeous boy Trio (Am/Aust Supreme Ch Chilolo EB ShowNo Mercy) has had to have his spleen removed following the discovery of a benign growth on it. Trio is 13 in August but has pulled through the surgery with flying colors and is now at home with Emma recuperating and waiting for the 20 staples to be removed.

Easter Weekend
While I am housebound with Joey and his injured hock, others are out and about with Chilolo dogs in the show ring.
Congratulations to Ron and Koopa (Chatter and Dudley) at Bundaberg who competed at 4 shows for 3 Best of Breeds and a nice collection of points.
In Perth, Tanya handled Eva (Holly and Herc) to a nice Best of Breed on Sunday and gained more points towards her Australian Champion title.
It will be 6 weeks this Thursday since Joey's hock was operated on. He had 3 fractures in the hock but I have no idea how he did it. It has been a nightmare for both of us and hopefully on Monday 12th he will have the frame removed so we can start the next part of the healing process.

We flew three puppies to Sydney today and luckily they could all travel together. Two of them, Nala and Hunter, went to Michael and Eileen and they sent these pics not long after they arrived.
"Dear Rosemary, Thank you so very much for our newest addition to the family. They have both eaten, done a pee and Nala has done a poo. They are currently fast asleep. The kids are in heaven. A bit overwhelmed by them but I'm so in love with them. Thank you for everything we love them!"

Always sad to hear that our dogs have passed on. Intombi was from our litter of Minty and Trio and was just short of 10 years of age. Our condolences to Sue and family and thank you for giving her such a lovely home.
Dear Rosemary"- Just letting you know very sadly Intombi was euthanised just short of her 10th birthday. She developed Cushing's Disease and then Pancreatitis and had been in steady decline over 12 months. At the end, she was on ten and a half tablets, plus 3 scoops of pancreatic extract, morning and night and nothing was working. Very sad.
She was a horror, but we loved her. She was very, very playful, cheeky and loving with those she accepted, but didn't like strangers. Everyone coming to the house was warned, "Don't touch the dog with the white foot, until she comes up to you asking for a pat.' Sometimes that would take a few minutes, sometimes a few days. But as the vet once said, 'At least I have one guard dog.'
Uju instantly loves everyone. Uju is coming up to 11 years is in good health and still very active. The reason I am telling you all this is, while we are not in a hurry for another puppy, please keep us in mind and let us know when you are having litters.
We would love another puppy, it is just a question of timing. We would snap up without hesitation, another Barry puppy, if you are ever breeding with him again. PLEASE. Best Wishes Sue"

Received an update today from Lee and Ian who have Kessi. Kessi is from our Samara - Chukkie litter and is so pretty:
"Hi Rosemary, For a laidback puppy she is certainly now boisterous constantly on search and destroy missions. She is a gorgeous girl and seems to learn quickly. That reminds me, I must book puppy school tomorrow. I have worried a bit when she has a liking to suck and chew on stones even though she has toys and chewy things.
Just got back yesterday from rainbow beach and no problems with our house sitter and it was lovely that she, Kessi came bounding up to us on our return. She is growing by the day. I'll keep you updated. Kind regards Lee "

Received from Lynne near Canberra today. We sent her Maziri (Chilolo CHS Tiramisu) from our Chatter - Solar litter:
"Rosemary he is a lovely boy, most impressed with him as is everyone who sees him (vets included). He has developed some selective deafness of late, and certainly lets you know if he is not impressed with something. Just started barking in past month (always for a reason). Regards Lynne "
